It's official. I just streamed my first internet radio station straight to my ear. 94.9FM -> internet -> wireless phone -> Bluespoon. The quality wasn't all that great by the time it got to my ear but that can only get better with bandwidth. I can't wait to listen to that at the gym, it's so not nerdy at all! I'm only one step away from having my entire music collection (and anybody else's too, actually) in my ear.
I just became the happy owner of some cool new toys! The first is a new bluetooth headset, called the Bluespoon AX. It's only 10 grams and is smaller than my ear. It looks kinda like a mouse. The other new toy is a new cell phone! It's the coolest phone I've had to date, an Audiovox SMT5600. It uses windows mobile 2003 for its operating system, comes with windows media player 10 (so it can play movies and music) and even has a slot for a miniSD memory card. Plus, you can write programs for it with Visual Basic/C++/etc. This phone has a 33 times as fast processor, 31 times as much RAM, a screen that can display 4000 times as many colors, and more storage space (not including the miniSD card), than my first computer. You can even play Doom and Worms World Party on the thing! I'm a happy camper .
