Our new bathroom… finally!

So, after weeks of stress and coming home daily to fix everything our contractor has done wrong, our new bathroom is finally done! We now feel like we're staying in a hotel every night :) . We have actual Mexican travertine floors, a granite countertop fabricated from an actual rock, walnut vanity cabinet, 6' tub, and (my two required items) a Toto Ultramax and a dimmer on the vanity lights. Bathroom - Before & After

Busy weekend

This weekend was quite productive and a busy one for me. My wife and sister whooped it up in Las Vegas, leaving me at home alone. I had Mr. B come over and we fortified my back fence with 3 8' 4x4s. It was hard work but it only took about 5 hours, including the trip to Home Depot. Then I painted 1/2 of the garage brown. Sunday, I mowed the lawn for the first time in spring and finished around the edges in the garage. I'll try to get some pictures up soon.

The roofers

The roofers started today! They had already been working a couple hours by the time I left for work. I left them coke and water (in the shade, of course). I also took a couple pictures but you can't see much yet. Hopefully everything goes well.

New roof

Well, we did it. We (and our neighbors) finally made a decision of the contractor we are going to use for our new roof. We could've bought a small car for the price we are going to pay but it is going to look so nice. The engineer came today to tell us our structure can handle the 10lbs/sq.ft. weight of the new tiles. We should have the tiles in 4-6 weeks! Our house is definitely ready for a facelift.

Floor work

Last night I worked on the floor, and the whole house up to and including the entry is done! the only rooms left are the living room and the kitchen!

Even more housework

We accomplished a lot this weekend, and with now only 2 more weekends before the wedding weekend, it's a good thing! Josh helped. We are about 1/2 way done with the pergo floor, with most of the hard part out of the way. The bathroom is almost done… all we need to do is install the wainscoat, move the toilet into position, and install the sink. The new deadbolts and front door knobs are in place. Everything is completely painted except for about 2 small touch-up areas. We're almost dfn!
