Blue Man Group

Saturday night my wife and I went to see Blue Man Group perform at Cox Arena. It was one of the best overall concert experiences I've ever had. I would say that it was quite the Visual Audio Sensory Theater, but of course that's already taken. The amount of creativity they display is awesome! Not only do they make their own random percussive instruments, but they accompany them with a full band and multiple video screens. They had a baby grand piano on its side with the top off, and to get the sound out of it, they banged it with a big rubbery mallety type thing. They also had a thing called a mobkast where if you text messaged them before the show, they would send you random tidbits back during the show. Oh yeah, also, Tracey Bohman opened and was featured in a couple of their songs. Needless to say, we had a great time.

Disney stockholders’ meeting and California Adventure

We drove up to Anaheim for the annual Disney stockholders' meeting. It hasn't been held in California since I bought the stock in 1999. So it was pretty cool that we got to go this year. We each got a free Disneyland ticket as a fun entry gift, and got to see some cool upcoming Disney stuff. After the meeting, we went to The Block @ Orange for lunch, and then went on over to California Adventure to take advantage of our 2fer passes. Neither one of us had been to California Adventure, and it was pretty fun. The best attraction was the Hollywood Tower Hotel aka the Tower of Terror, where you get in an elevator and basically the floor drops out from underneath you. It was pretty scary. The other co-coolest attraction there was Soarin' over California, where you feel like you're hanggliding over different famous places in California. We also took a tour of a Tortilla factory and Sourdough bread factory. We could've bought margaritas but didn't because the temperature was in the high 40s. A fun time was had by all.

Disneyland

We went to Disneyland thanks to the Christmas present from Dx2. I hadn't been there since 6th grade, and Erin hadn't been there since freshman year of college (7 years) so it was fun to go back. I'd never been on the Indiana Jones "attraction" before, it was pretty fun. We also went on the renovated Space Mountain attraction, Star Tours, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Jungle Cruise, and Big Thunder Mountain. We also stumbled upon Club 33, the ultra-exclusive and l33t hidden restaurant in the middle of "New Orleans".

San Diego Chargers

last night we went to a Chargers game. Erin got the tickets for being cool at work. It was the first football game I've ever seen live, and it was pretty cool. The tickets were field level, too. The game was pretty exciting… the Chargers lost but just barely.

Petco park

Last night we went to Petco park for the first time to see the Padres play the Florida Marlins. The previous game they played, the Pads won 7-1, but last night, alas, the Marlins won, 8-2. It was a close game, until those two 3 run homeruns. It is a really cool stadium though, and I'm sure we'll go back on occasion.

Padres Game

We went to a Padres game at Petco Park last night on Raytheon. We hit up Fred's in downtown first, then headed to the game. It was Ali's last night before heading back to CT to finish school. Padres lost :(

San Diego WAP

We went to the Wild Animal Park, and saw Dino Mountain and an Urban Safari, and a steel drum band with African Dancers. It was a pretty random visit to the WAP, but was definitely fun.

Bachelor party

I had my bachelor party on Saturday night. 8 of us went to Shogun Kobe and then to Gaslamp Billiards. It was quite the night! We also went to several alternative destinations. We have pictures but I'd rather they didn't get out.
